Octopus Energy issues 'largest ever' announcement and knocks customer bills to £0
Octopus Energy has unveiled its largest “Zero Bills” development to date—a 300-home site in Wisbech in partnership with Prosperity Group.
Described as the world’s largest Zero Bills site, the homes will allow residents to pay no energy bills for at least 10 years, powered by a mix of solar panels, battery storage and heat pumps. The first properties are expected to be completed in 2028.
Launched in 2022, the Zero Bills tariff is part of Octopus Energy’s wider plan to deliver 100,000 such homes by 2030, with projects already underway across the UK and internationally. Industry leaders say the model offers a practical solution to rising energy costs while future-proofing homes with built-in green technology.
